Mutiara Arif eyeing Mideast markets for catfish products
DUBAI: Kuala Lumpur-based Mutiara Arif Sdn Bhd has set its sights on the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the region to market its catfish-based products.
Its international marketing director Farid Ibrahim said the supermarket chains in this Gulf states would be ideal to reach out to, due to the sizeable community of foreign workers as well as residents.
“Our halal catfish products are competitively priced and this I think, would be welcomed by the foreign workers who have to grapple with the high cost of living in the region,” he told Bernama recently.
Mutiara Arif which has catfish breeding operations in Alor Gajah, Melaka and Putrajaya, is capable of producing up to 500 tonnes of catfish every two months.
Farid said Mutiara Arif’s products are currently exported to China. — Bernama
